When should you avoid a massage?
Home › Blog and massage guides
A wellness massage is not suitable for every situation. Health concerns should be discussed before booking, especially when symptoms are new or unexplained.

Do not book as a substitute for medical assessment. Sabayking’s current terms exclude pregnancy and certain serious conditions.
Infection and fever
If you have a fever, feel acutely unwell or may have a contagious infection, postpone the visit and seek medical advice when appropriate. A massage is not a way to speed recovery.
Recent surgery or unexplained symptoms
After surgery, injury or when you have unexplained pain, ask your treating clinician whether massage is appropriate. Mention medication such as blood thinners and any relevant diagnoses to the studio before a visit.
Pregnancy and studio exclusions
The current studio terms exclude massage during pregnancy, as well as serious psychological and neurological conditions and other listed situations. Do not book a treatment if an exclusion applies.
Wellness is different from treatment
The team does not diagnose disease or provide physiotherapy. When in doubt, medical advice comes first. If you are eligible for a wellness visit, you can then discuss pressure, positioning and comfort with the studio.
Common questions
Can I come with a cold or fever?
Postpone the appointment if you feel acutely ill or have a fever.
Can I book after an operation?
Ask your treating clinician first and discuss the situation with the studio.
Should I book a firm massage while taking blood thinners?
Do not assume it is suitable. Ask for medical advice and tell the studio before booking.
Does Sabayking offer pregnancy massage?
No. Pregnancy is excluded under the current studio terms.
Is a wellness massage the same as physiotherapy?
No. Wellness massage does not diagnose or treat a medical condition.
This guide helps you plan a wellness visit and does not replace medical advice.
